Lacey, Lionel P. (Lacy)
b. June 19, 1819, in Belleville, Illinois; d. August 20, 1866. Lacey was a lawyer who practiced primarily in Logan County,
Illinois. Lacey settled in Mt. Pulaski in the 1840s, but later moved to
Lincoln, when the county seat relocated to that town. Lacey was a Democrat and a supporter of Stephen A. Douglas. He introduced
Douglas and presided over the Lincoln-Douglas debate held in Lincoln in 1858. He married Ruth Lacey in December 1861, and
they had
two children. Lacey practiced law until his death.
